Cranberry Sauce

1 cup granulated Zsweet®
1 cup water
4 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
Optional Ingredients: Pecans, orange peel, raisins, currants, blueberries, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice.

Note: For additional sweeteness add ZSweet® supersweet packets to taste.
Blend Zsweet® in a food processor or blender to refine and assist with dissolving. Wash and pick over cranberries. In a saucepan bring to a boil water and Zsweet®, stirring to dissolve Zsweet®. Add cranberries, return to a boil. Reduce heat, simmer for 10 minutes or until cranberries burst.

At this point you can add whichever of the optional ingredients you desire. We typically mix in half a cup of roughly chopped pecans with a few strips of orange peel. (You can reasonably add up to a cup of raisins or currants, and up to a pint of fresh or frozen blueberries for added sweetness.)

Next, remove from heat and let it cool down to room temperature; then chill in the refrigerator. The cranberry sauce will thicken as it cools.
