How does ZSweet® compare with Stevia?
One of ZSweet®'s ingredients is S. rebaudiana leaf extract, which is derived from Stevia, used as a natural, zero calorie flavor enhancer. However, ZSweet® and plain Stevia have many differences. Most notably is the taste. ZSweet® granulated is far superior in taste and texture as it is closer to that of sugar and can be used as a one for one replacement for sugar in baking, unlike liquid and powdered Stevia. ZSweet® supersweet packets provide potent sweetening without the bitter aftertaste of Stevia.
ZSweet® natural sweeteners are recognized by the FDA as a food (as is sugar). Stevia, on the other hand, is classified as a supplement. The ingredients in ZSweet® are erythritol, a natural occurring sweetener that occurs in fruits and vegetables, and natural botanical extracts. ZSweet® contains no artificial flavors or irritating fillers or carriers. Many Stevia brands incorporate other ingredients such as inulin fiber (FOS) to bulk or carry the product and can be irritating during digestion. ZSweet® natural sweeteners are zero calorie and have zero glycemic effect, making it preferable for individuals with blood sugar issues and those who are interested in weight loss.
